Tasting Notes: Leans Heavy
This kava is a bit stronger in flavor than the previous batch. When you open the bag you are met with a light pepper scent balanced with earthy notes.
When you taste the kava you will notice a slight mouth numbness and goes down very smooth. For us the effects started a bit slower than the last batch at about 2 hours. Other drinkers have noted that this kava leans heavy.
Historically this kava has been very potent. The mix of kavalactones in the chemotype and the higher percentage of total kavalactones leads to a nice potentcy not often found in kava from Fiji.
Everyone's tolerance is different. We can have different experiences too! Please let us know how it worked for you in your review. Kava also has a reverse tolerance. So if it hasn't worked for you yet, try it again. If you have any questions at all, please reach out on our Instagram or Facebook page.
Each batch is hand picked, harvested and shipped to us immediately in small batches. Every batch is going to be a bit different than the last. If this one isn't for you, give the next a try and it may be the winner you were looking for!
About this Kava:
We sourced this 100% noble waka kava from the island of Koro in Fiji. This high quality noble Kava is selected from plants at least 5 years in age that have been organically grown on the island of Koro.
The Fijian WAKA (100% Lateral Root) Kava powder, is derived from the smaller roots that extend from the main root-stock. These roots are higher in Kavalactones.
Batch 3 CHEMOTYPE: 426531
Batch 3 TOTAL KAVALACTONE: 5.10%*** (see below) Murray Brown Labs
Batch 3 Cultivars: Loa Kasa Leka & Loa Kasa Balavu
***Our previous lab tests showed between 10% and 14% kavalactones for this cultivar. It still has an incredible strength however the kavalactone content is much more accurate.
About the Farmer:
The kava farmers name is Alosio Naduva and his family. Alasio Sovita Naduva "Mr Nitro" plays as a winger in the Fiji national rugby sevens team. He helped the Fiji Sevens side to win their fourth World Rugby Sevens Series in the 2018-19 season. He and his family have been farming kava on a few islands in Fiji for quite some time now. Look for him on Fiji's Rugby team in the upcoming Olympics!
Made as single serving: 50g in 20oz water. Blended for 4 min, strained.
Made by the gallon: 100 to 130g. 1 gallon of room temperature water in a large bowl, bucket or a traditional tanoa bowl. Add water to the vessel. Add kava to a nut bag or cheese cloth and dip the bag into the water. Massage for about 15 to 20 minutes or until you've reached your desired potency. Serve in coconut shells, glasses or store in a gallon jug chilled. Shake jug before serving.
This kava is amazing. Love the taste, love the buzz. Will definitely be buying again.
Both of the kavas are top notch and the customer service is excellent. They are strong, taste great, and very pleasant!
This is absolutely now one of my favorite kavas. First off, the flavor is very different. I drink a lot of kava and this is the first waka's I've tasted that has a profile including orange blossom, pine needles, jasmine against a terpene-laden background. The effects are gentle but profound. For me, this is perfect morning, afternoon, or evening kava. After a few shells, a noticeable warm flush of relaxation passes through.the body and there is a slight headiness. Keep drinking to increase both, of course, but I've noticed that at high doses the "krunk" isn't out of control. Some kavas produce a sharp queasiness when you take them for a drive down to krunkston, but not this one! Smooth. Truly the Tesla of kavas. Highly recommended!
This kava is really smooth and relaxing. It is perfect for after a hard day of work and the quality is also very fresh!
Was more than satisfied with this kava as a nice end of day treat. It's effects were very calming. As good as the Kava was the prompt and courteous help of the owner as he upgraded me to free two day shipping during the election. This is a model that more businesses need to adopt. Bula to Kava and kind vibes!
